Ben
Ben is a Chartered Health and Safety Professional (CMIOSH) and has been working in the events industry for several years and has undertaken the role of safety officer, safety adviser and event controller at music festivals, boxing matches, football matches, council events and international multisport events. Ben recently has been the Head of Health and Safety at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games and was the CDM (Construction Design Management Regulations 2015) Project Lead prior to become the Head of Health and Safety.
Ben is currently the Resilience Capability Lead for Crowds, Events and Public Safety at the UK Resilience Academy, (formerly the Cabinet Office Emergency Planning College).
Ben has an MSc in Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Management, a University Diploma in Event Safety Management, the Level 4 Diploma in Spectator Safety Management, several NEBOSH qualifications, is a licence holder as well as holding plant operator instructor and assessor qualifications. Ben is currently undertaking a PhD in Risk at Middlesex University focusing on Risk and Resilience understanding and management in the Events industry. Ben volunteers in his spare time and is currently one of the committee members on the IOSH Sports Grounds and Events Committee, and acts a mentor to those members of IOSH wanting to progress from any level up to Chartered status.
Ben has reviewed and written a host of event safety plans and has given advice and guidance to a number of music festivals, event organisers, national governing bodies, emergency planning teams, local councils/authorities and West End Shows. Ben has written crisis communication plans, disaster management documentation, produced bespoke risk assessments and developed and delivered exercises, both via table-top and cross partner. This has been both in the UK and abroad, including work on the FIFA World Cup in Qatar (2022), and major music festivals for Riyadh season in Saudi Arabia (2019 – 2023).
Ben has a passion for event safety planning, CDM planning on events, crisis and disaster management and complex risk assessments. He’s one of those ‘go to’ people in the events industry for advice on all matters relating to event safety.

Donna
Donna is the backbone of Seillean and our Operations Manager. Not only does she manage the office, but she also looks after all the paperwork, finances and making sure the team and Ben are where they are meant to be.
Donna holds a HND in Outdoor Recreation Management, the NCRQ Level 6 Certificate in Applied Health and Safety, Level 4 FREC (First Response Emergency Care) , a Level 5 Certificate in Corporate Risk and Crisis Management, and a NEBOSH General Certificate. Donna is currently undertaking her IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management and a Level 7 Certificate in Strategic Leadership and Management. Donna is set to start her MSc in Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Management in 2025
Donna has supported organisations, organisers and events in writing event safety plans or undertaking safety audits and has helped represent them at local SAG’s. When she is not doing all of this, she can be found outdoor swimming, even in the depths of the icy winter, or up a mountain or in the hills with the dog.
Scott
Scott has been involved in the events industry for over 6 years and has experience at bronze and silver tactical command levels. He has been involved with music festivals, horse races, boxing matches, cycle races and large city events. Scott currently is also the Safety Officer and Security Manager at AJ Bell Stadium, Manchester.
Scott has a level 5 University Diploma in Event Safety Management, qualifications in Spectator Safety, including the Level 4 Diploma in Spectator Safety, holds SIA licences and has recently completed a NEBOSH General Certificate.
Scott is also a retained fire fighter and helps out with the fire safety at his local airfield.
Scott has a wealth of event knowledge and is one of those people who give you confidence that an events safety and security is in a safe set of hands.
